We still need a hand at Fall for Fairfax!

Hi folks; and WELCOME ABOARD to the new CERT 29 class!
I wanted to let all of you know that we could still use a hand at the Fall for Fairfax event. It's being held this Saturday at the Fairfax county government center from 10 am to 4 pm. We're still in need of a few more more CERT's; at this event we'll be manning our CERT display and talking to the crowds about our program.
In addition; we'll be doing live extrication and lifting/cribbing demos for the crowds at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Remember doing scene "sizeups" and working in teams, then lifting and cribbing victims out from under pallets? That's what we'll be doing; except with an audience ! We'll be doing a head to toe assessment as well as our "fun with duct tape" medical skills. It's impressive to watch during an evolution; think what the public will think !

Here's who I currently have down for helping so far:

Kevin Mullins of CERT 20
Betty Varholy of CERT 8
Andrew Levy of CERT 15 (for a little while)
and me.
Kevin, Betty and Andrew are veterans of previous community outreach events; if you all could; share your experiences from previous events on the blog. Others I'm sure would love to hear of your exploits!
BIG THANKS TO THOSE HELPING OUT !!!! If you'd like to come out and help us; please let me know. My email address is
