MRC Exercise Requests CERT Participation

The Fairfax County Health Department and the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) are holding a full-scale exercise on Saturday, October 27th at the George Mason University Patriot Center and Oak View Elementary from 8 am to 1 pm.

The exercise is being conducted in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to evaluate the County's mass dispensing plan for antibiotic medications. More than 500 volunteers are needed to assist the Health Department in this exercise.

This exercise will provide an interesting opportunity to learn about the new non-medical dispensing plan, the Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI). Lunch, refreshments, and a t-shirt will be provided for all exercise participants.

Please register for the exercise before October 15th. The exercise is open to both current MRC volunteers and general members of the community. If you know of others interested in joining the MRC or attending the exercise, please refer them to Amy Tarte at or call (703) 246-8641 to request a registration form.
